It is one of the difficult problems about Qurʾān to find out how it is revealed. In this paper, using an analytic-descriptive methodology, the views of AllamehTabatabaʾi and Ayatollah JavadiAmoli will be explained and analyzed and their reasons will be criticized. AllamehTabatabaʾithinks that there is two kinds of revelation (immediate and gradual) and Ayatollah JavadiAmoli thinks that there is three kinds of revelation (immediate, moderate, and gradual). AllamehTabatabaʾi’s view is the first step in demonstrating the supernal revelation of Qurʾān, and Ayatollah JavadiAmoli’s view explains and articulates the revelation of Qurʾān. So, there is no conflict between the two views and they are in accordance with each other.
